Atlanta Armory
The largest selection of welded maille to
choose from.
If you are new here please read the About
page.
All of the maille is either made or inspected myself.
My maille is half the weight of the stuff made in India, which has flooded the market in recent years, and several times stronger. Maille made from butted rings has to use thick wire in order to be strong enough to just be strong enough to wear. A shirt made of butted maille can weigh upwards of 25 pounds. I can make a similar shirt that weighs 15 pounds or less and is over twenty times stronger. I can use thinner wire because we do not rely on the tensile strength (the springiness) of the wire in order to keep the ring from opening. In order for my welded rings to break the weld has to be pulled apart.
