All of my chainmail is made from welded links. Why welded?
The extra strength allows me to use thinner, lighter wire and still have an end product that is
far more durable than butted in heavier wire.
- The metal has to fail before a link opens up.
- I can use far stronger alloys and tempers than available for riveted.
